C’babi Bayoc

The Bayoc studio is comprised of two individuals: Cbabi (pronounced KUH-BOBBY) and Reine (pronounced RAIN) Bayoc. Just as their logo implies, they’ve got each other’s back. But who are they.

Cbabi Bayoc is the visual element in this productive union, whose style has a movement and presence expressive of someone born to be creative. Since becoming a full-time artist in 95, after graduating from Grambling State University, Cbabi has stayed true to himself by creating what he enjoys as opposed to what folks tell him he should create because certain themes may be hot and selling for the moment.

His name, which is an acronym for Creative Black Artist Battling Ignorance and Blessed African Youth of Creativity, allows others to realize his mission and blessing in life. Through his artwork, he is able to show the beauty in black faces and black life to all faces and all walks of life.

What’s up with Reine Well, someone has to handle the business aspect, and Reine is the HWIC. Reine, besides handling the money, works side-by-side with Cbabi on proposals, contracts and image development that’s how she earns her 70%. After the client talks about what he or she wants visually, the rest is dealt with Reine. She is the one who says Let’s do this, or Let’s pass.
