Ted T. Ellis is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana. The city, known for its style and artistic exuberance, inspired Ellis to capture the essence of his subject’s rich cultural heritage. “I prefer to paint subjects that are representative of many facets of American life. Among my many favorites to paint are portraits, landscapes, and seascapes.”

As a self taught artist, Ted’s style is a blend of realism and impressionism. His artwork is nostalgic and uplifting. Because of his increasing popularity, Ted has been commissioned by many private collectors and major corporations.

Since receiving his B.S. in Chemistry from Dillard University in 1986, Ted has pursed his lifelong passion to draw and paint. Now after working as a chemist for ten years, Ted recently resigned to fulfill his dream. “To be excellent, to dare to be great at what I love to do, and to make a substantial contribution to the lives of people who are touched by my art is my dream.”
